Living in a pandemic is challenging enough, but when you can't spend time with your elderly mom on Mother's Day (sorry Mom, I know you think you're still 29), it's tough.I live in Manhattan and Mom is in Hempstead. I wanted to support a local business. The florist I've used out there in the past had heinous prices and I didn't like the choices on their site. I found South City Gardens online and selected a plant from the website that I knew Mom would love. Shortly after placing my online order I received a call from Diane who explained what I chose was not available due the shortage of products. She offered an alternate but I was a bit hesitant because it was not really what I was looking for. I told her I had to think about it while I considered my options. When I called back later in the day and clarified my hesitation, Diane acknowledged my concern. "Don't worry. I'll put something beautiful together her. She's going to love it."She was right.When Mom called to thank me for her gift, she was over the moon! "It's beautiful. I love the arrangement and just what I need to add to my other plants!" I could hear in her voice how happy she was, and that was all I needed. She sent me a photo which I would share here, but I don't think it does it justice. (There's a reason why I am the professional photographer and not her. :) )Diane, thank you to you and your team!
